Today (day 12: July 29), I plan to make the short drive (about 200 miles) to my daughter's (Trisha) place on the north side of Chicago and spend another evening with her. I don't get to see her much so I'm taking the opportunity to see her on my return trip as well. This will be the shortest day of the trip!
Tomorrow (day 13; July 30) I should return home (1 day early). No, I'm not going into work on Friday! From Chicago I plan to head west to the Mississippi River in Dubuque Iowa and then follow the west side of the river back up towards Minneapolis and then home.
I will do another post when I return home and then I will plan I more final post with a summary, final thoughts and some statistics about the trip. So keep looking for new posts!
I hope you have enjoyed following my trip. Writing the blog gives me one more thing to look forward to every evening. It also helps me better remember what happened and will provide a permanent record of my trip.
