Day 6 - A Lazy Day (Only 360 Miles)

Because I didn't get back to camp until later yesterday, I did all my technology stuff this morning so I didn't get on the road until almost 9:00. I headed to Georgia and Wolf Pen Gap. The roads getting there were good. Wolf Pen Gap itself was also very good but not as difficult as the Dragon. I would rate it close or maybe even a little better than the Snake. After that it was off to several other roads in Georgia and South Carolina. This is the first day on this trip I rode in 4 states (Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina).

So far on the trip I have ridden in 10 states (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina). Five of these states I had not ridden in before I will be able to color them in on my "States I Have Ridden In" map. I should still be able to add West Virginia and maybe Ohio on the return trip.

One of place I stopped today was Looking Glass Falls (see photo).

It got the warmest it has been on this trip while I was in South Carolina. The temperate was 88 (time to head back to the cooler mountains.

What is going on in Florida? It seems they are all evacuating to the North Carolina region! I see more cars on the road and talk to more people from Florida than any other state.

I have included the map of where I went today. Some of the previous days were not complete. I'm not sure what was causing the problem but I made a change in my "procedure" today and it seems to work better. Hopeful it will be OK the rest of the trip.

Tonight I'm staying at another motorcycle campground in Cruso N.C. The bridge only allows no motorcycle to cross it. I have a tent site right by the river. Tomorrow is more riding in the area and moving up the parkway.
