Day 3 -

This morning it was foggy when I got up so I delayed my start a little until around 8:30. Fortunately by then the fog was patchy and burned off quickly. The roads today were wonderful. I have included a few pictures but in most places there aren’t safe places to pull off and take pictures. Much of the landscape look alike in all the states that I rode in today (Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia). They are all hills and trees. Not as breath taking as the Rocky Mountains but from a riding perspective, they are wonderful.

I was truly in the back country today. Some of the homes you see leave a little (OK a lot) to be desired.

The pictures of the roads could have been taken anywhere along my route today. I think they were taken in Kentucky. Lets just say there are not very many straight roads here - yippi

I ended the day at Bristol Tennessee. I’m staying at a KOA tonight. It has been raining off and on a little this afternoon and evening. I hope it doesn’t rain and get everything wet. As I’m writing, I again hear thunder in the distance. Have to keep it short tonight!

Tomorrow I plan to ride “The Snake” and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I plan to ride it back to the south/west to its beginning in North Carolina and then start working may way back north from there.

Thunders getting louder -- must go.
